Being Nice - What I talk about when I talk about Wong Fu

If you've ever watched one of the films made by Wong Fu Productions, regardless of what ethinic groups you belong to, you can admit that they are representing good role models. Not just as an Asian or Asian American, but as a human living living in urban society in general.
WongFu4Lyfe!
But what I mean by representing good role models??? It's very difficult to put down in words. So I want you to just check out Wong Fu short films.

*Plz press  to see videolists.

Wong Fu makes comedy

My favorite is POSER! - The history and evolution of the "Peace Sign", perhaps it's something only Asian Americans from California aka Melting Pot can produce. If Japanese do the same thing, it might be too much Japanese or gives an impression as a Political Correctness related thing and the same goes with Koreans, Taiwanese, Chinese, Hong Konians. But when they, AAs grown up in California, do this, the video has a general impression of urban Asia, which is an absolutely imaginary place, plasticky pop, high-tech, wired but friendly and funny.

Wong Fu makes drama

Don't miss Strangers, again this is one of the career highlights of Wong Fu, it has gained over 8 million views on youtube!!

Wong Fu do v-logging

And they make music videos

Personally I think Wong Fu's popularity owes a lot to their personalities.
We know their personality through their v-log called Wong Fu Weekend, they act in their own films, too. We can say we know about their personalities more than, say.. about Hollywood celebrities' or TV stars' because what captured in thier filims are genuine themselves not media-filtered personalities.
But think about it. They are not actors nor singers. They are writers, film makers, creators. As Mr.Murakami says how many professional writers are the persons who people actually want to be friends with in real life, probably few if not none. But Wong Fu is not on the same list, they are so lovely so easy-going so funny so NICE guys, definitely they're the people who we really want to hang out with in real life. This "being nice (guys or girls)" is the foundation of Wong Fu's creation, too. This is a great thing, that's why their talent are so important for millions of viewrs. People think if you're a nice guy probably you can't make things with some artistic value, yet they've been successfully making so captivating stuffs without trying to be cool, stylish, or intelligent, pretending to be important or smart, those things are hidden inside themselves. In short they are successful to make something just nice but also surely heart touching.

With their brand new drama series called Hans, they are seeking for the opportunity to get their work on TV spots.
Whatever happens in the future of Wong Fu, I hope thier kind of attitude 'Being Nice' which has a strong message that resonates with people will never change, it's a little strange though since being nice is a more natural thing not something being forced, not something that can be dubbed as a strong message. But there're so many people who eloquently speak that being nice is good, don't be a jerk, actually, as you know, youtube is full of those people. I'm not here trying to say those people are wrong but when I see people who are  irresistibly listen to those speakers, I really want to say  'Just relax, being nice is a not something that you can learn from speech. It' about whole yourself. It's something you're supposed to acquire more naturally from the way nice people around you live', though I don't think anybody listen to me

The reason Won Fu is nice is because they are not like 'Hey look, we are really nice guys, we know how to be nice, so you'd better listen to me, maybe we're not perfect, but we're willing to learn!!'. Instead they are just being nice. They're not trying to force people their dogma, just let people let them be. If they want to be nice they naturally learn how to be nice from people or/and Wong Fu and be nice by themselves.
